  • FASHION EYE BOOKS COLLECTION

This fall Louis Vuitton adds five new titles to Fashion Eye, its collection of photography books.

Celebrating the art of travel since 1854, this fall Louis Vuitton adds five new titles to Fashion Eye, its collection of photography books.

Five photographers invite us to travel to new horizons, Monte Carlo by Helmut Newton, New York by Saul Leiter, Berlin by Peter Lindbergh, British Columbia by Sølve Sundsbø and Morocco by Vincent Van de Wijngaard. As in the first wave of publications by Guy Bourdin, Jeanloup Sieff, Wing Shya, Kourtney Roy and Henry Clarke, each album highlights a city, a region or a country through the gaze of a fashion photographer.

  • A WORLD TOUR WITH THE MONOGRAM

Louis Vuitton revisits the Monogram icons with a dedicated collection that inspires wanderlust.

Historical trunks of the House still influence the designers. Thus, Nicolas Ghesquière immersed himself in the archives of Louis Vuitton and started designing models with the sticker spirit that used to be sprinkled on the trunks in the past.

This year, a selection of Monogram icons come printed with new stickers that refer to the utmost cosmopolitan cities or paintings from the Hyperrealistic movement: the Monogram World Tour collection. From the Pégase suitcase to the now essential Petite Malle, enjoy the art of travelling in style.

The Fondation Louis Vuitton presents the exhibition "Icons of Modern Art - The Shchukin Collection" beginning October 22nd, 2016

From October 22nd, 2016 to February 20th, 2017, the Fondation Louis Vuitton features an exhibition that pays tribute to one of the greatest art patrons of the early 20th century, Sergei Shchukin, the visionary Russian collector of French modern art, whose collection “remains little know to the general western public even today” states Anne Baldassari, curator of the exhibition. “In fact, since it was broken up in 1948 it has never been gathered as a singular and coherent artistic entity”, continues Baldassari.

Thanks to the generous contribution of the Hermitage Museum and the Pushkin Museum, the exhibition presents a significant ensemble of 130 major pieces of French modern art in dialogue with 30 works of Russian avant-garde art. Throughout his life, Shchukin collected works by impressionists, post-impressionists and modern masters including Monet, Cézanne, Gauguin, Rousseau, Derain, Matisse, Picasso, Degas, Renoir, Toulouse-Lautrec, and Van Gogh.
