Louis Vuitton imagines a new olfactory journey designed exclusively for the home. Four perfumed candles give interiors new dimension and transport them into a whole different atmosphere.

Imprinted in the Maison Louis Vuitton’s heart since its beginnings, travel consistently informs the house’s olfactory creations. It’s a state of mind that’s ever poised to venture out and conquer the world, with an insatiable curiosity, and a lightness of being, that embraces discovery — and it serves as a continuous inspiration for Master Perfumer Jacques Cavallier Belletrud. After creating a first collection of women’s fragrances in 2016, which was followed by a range of men’s fragrances in 2018, the perfumer has mastered a new journey: four scented candles that transform the home into another ambiance.

Nestled in daring ceramic containers designed by Marc Newson, these candles travel easily from one room to the next thanks to a handle in hand-stitched natural leather, anchored by a metal rivet. Their matte white finish contrasts with the sensuality of natural leather and a gleaming gold-finished lid that doubles as a base when the candle burns. Like souvenirs brought back home from faraway horizons, Louis Vuitton ceramic candles are designed to bring a long-lasting touch to home décor and take on new life once the candle is gone.

Wishing to capture the scent that wafts through natural settings and to transport it indoors, Master Perfumer Jacques Cavallier Belletrud imagined each of his first four Louis Vuitton candles like a house with windows open to the world — or a poetic breeze that comes from outside and settles indoors. This season, each of the perfumer’s creations draws on landscapes discovered while traveling, as well as the homes where the candle’s fragrance alights.

Bags Unpacked: Pierre Le-Tan and Bertil Scali tell the stories of travelers around the world and reveal the secrets of their luggage.

An irresistible collection of the most glamorous, worldly and discerning travelers’ tales. Who packed ‘a thousand absolutely necessary suitcases’? Who rediscovered his notes for a perennial bestseller in a trunk at the Paris Ritz? Whose trunk contained a bed?

Here are around fifty intrepid travelers from the age of the steamer to the present: actors and heiresses, aristocrats and adventurers, rock stars, artists and fashion royalty, from Sarah Bernhardt to Sharon Stone, Tamara de Lempicka to Madonna, Paul Poiret to Karl Lagerfeld, Henri Matisse to Jeff Koons.

Pierre Le-Tan’s portraits perfectly complement Bertil Scali’s witty, entertaining stories, which unpack the bags of the famous and their first-class lifestyles for all to enjoy.

We could weave an invisible thread linking these artists, explorers and inventors whose paths often crossed, forming a kind of constellation, a cluster of life’s travelers, the aesthetes of travel.

Crocodile is one of the exceptional, so-called exotic leathers on which the artisans of Maison Louis Vuitton exercise their unique skills, taking luxury to new heights of refinement.

There it is, on a pedestal, majestic and magnificent. Utterly incomparable. A crocodile bag is a noble object; it somehow has more pride, more presence, more power than any other. Maison Louis Vuitton delights in revealing this exceptional leather, developing cutting-edge techniques or seeking out age-old traditions in order to make it more exceptional yet. In the pantheon of exotic leathers, where python, stingray, lizard and ostrich all have a place, crocodile reigns supreme. At Louis Vuitton, working with crocodile is an adventure in itself, a thrilling exploration of new ways – through colors, treatments and innovations – to excite the imagination. It takes all the House’s legendary savoir-faire to create an object of unique beauty, as well as a lifetime companion, one that is not only sophisticated, but amazingly contemporary.

This immaculate skin requires a high level of expertise to reveal its brilliance. The artisans deploy all their skill to obtain an absolute white, as on this Capucines White bag.

On the occasion of Paris Photo (November 8 to 11), Louis Vuitton invites you to discover its publications and pop-up bookstore located on the left-hand side of the Grand Palais stairway of honor.

With its City Guide and Fashion Eye Series, Louis Vuitton explores photographic creation while celebrating the Art of Travel.

Both mirroring trends and setting the standard, with great attention to cosmopolitan transformation, the Louis Vuitton City Guide has explored the most magnetic metropoles for nearly twenty years. Today thirty cities have been revealed through unexpected perspectives on fashion, design, well-being, contemporary art, gastronomy and culture.  Original photographs illustrate the Louis Vuitton City Guide, a vision entrusted to the photography collective Tendance Floue, who reinforce the singular point of view represented in these tomes. Patrick Tourneboeuf is the author of the photographs featured in the 2019 Paris City Guide, as French photographer Françoise Huguier shares her favourite addresses this year. During Paris Photo, the digital version of the Paris City Guide is available for free on the App Store.

With Fashion Eye, its series of photography books, Louis Vuitton evokes a city, a region or a country, seen through the eyes of a fashion photographer. Title after title, a broad compendium of perspectives emerges, one that shifts with the destinations, including urban panoramas and natural landscapes, scenes of local life, and more contemplative work. Fashion Eye creates an unprecedented dialogue between emerging talents, seasoned photographers and fashion photography legends.

On November 9th and 10th, several photographs of the Fashion Eye series will sign their books at the Paris Photo x Louis Vuitton pop-up bookstore.
