    Louis Vuitton creates trunks for Roland-Garros’ legendary trophies

    These two trophy trunks, handcrafted in Louis Vuitton’s historic workshops in Asnières, have been meticulously produced to house each of the illustrious Roland-Garros trophies, the Suzanne Lenglen Cup and the Musketeers’ Cup.

    Adorned in the iconic Monogram canvas, these trunks feature the signature brass corners and lock. The terracotta-colored interior evokes the clay surface. On the front, a “V” reminiscent of the lines on a tennis court adds the finishing touch to the trunk’s design.

    The Louis Vuitton America’s Cup Challenger Playoffs will take place in Bermuda from June 4th to June 12th, 2017.

    The path to the 35th America’s Cup Match, presented by Louis Vuitton in Bermuda, has taken its five challengers - Land Rover BAR, Emirates Team New Zealand, Artemis Racing, SoftBank Team Japan, Groupama Team France - and Defender, Oracle Team USA, winner of the 34th America’s Cup, around the world. They have competed in a grueling cycle of intensely competitive regattas. However, only one team can win the right to go forward as the Challenger and compete for the America’s Cup against the Defender Oracle Team USA.

    Louis Vuitton has commissioned a new trophy and trunk to mark this great achievement. The Louis Vuitton America’s Cup Challenger Playoffs trophy, will be awarded to the team that emerges victorious as Challenger, June 11th or 12th on the Great Sound.

    Louis Vuitton teams up once again with Roland-Garros with its trophy trunks

    For Roland-Garros 2018, Louis Vuitton has joined forces with the French Tennis Federation for the second consecutive year. The Women’s Singles and Men’s Singles champions of Roland-Garros’ tournament will respectively win the prestigious Suzanne Lenglen Cup and the Musketeers’ Cup. These trophies will be presented in two trunks designed by Louis Vuitton and customized with the poster for 2018’s tournament. This marks a legitimate collaboration for two illustrious French brands particularly attached to know-how, excellence, art, and promoting Paris and France worldwide.

    Since Louis Vuitton was founded in 1854, the customization of its products through painting has been an integral part of its DNA and traditional know-how. The 2018 Roland-Garros poster, designed by the artist Fabienne Verdier, will be painted on the “trophy” trunks. This customization, given pride of place once again this year, will add an exceptional and unique artistic touch to these cases. More than a means of identification, customization above all makes it possible to meet customers’ specific needs.

    Louis Vuitton presents “Volez, Voguez, Voyagez - Louis Vuitton” at the Dongdaemun Design Plaza, in Seoul from June 8th through August 27th, 2017. Under the direction of Olivier Saillard, the exhibition retraces the adventures of the Maison Louis Vuitton, from 1854 to the present, through the portraits of its founders, as well as of those who are currently inventing the Louis Vuitton of tomorrow. This themed tour, divided into ten chapters, embodies the iconic hallmarks and bold spirit of Louis Vuitton. The exhibition closes with a display, devoted to the savoir-faire of the craftspeople in the Louis Vuitton workshops.
