• WOMEN’S SHOES FOR FALL-WINTER 2019

    Louis Vuitton highlights three bold yet versatile styles that set the tone for the Women’s Fall-Winter 2019 Shoe collection.

    Nicolas Ghesquière paid homage to the Centre Pompidou and the surrounding Beaubourg neighborhood of Paris with his Louis Vuitton Fall-Winter 2019 collection. For the season’s shoes, Louis Vuitton carries on the bold spirit of the Collection in the three stand-out models highlighted here. 

    Featured prominently on the runway, the chunky LV Beaubourg platform derbies combine feminine and masculine influences. The Rhapsody boots reference classic motorcycle boots while incorporating key details such as engraved studs or white eyelets, a recurring detail through the collection. Finally, the LV Archlight sneakers, one of Louis Vuitton’s most recognizable styles, has been reimagined in both this season’s black-and-white tweed as well as the signature primary colors of the Centre Pompidou.

    The prismatic representation of the rainbow has been a strong leitmotiv for Men's Artistic Director Virgil Abloh since his debut Collection for Louis Vuitton last year. For Fall-Winter 2019, pieces take on a futuristic edge that is further highlighted thanks to Kenta’s innovative lens. The Taiga Rainbow motif and show-stealing fiber optic Keepall come alive in these images shot against the backdrop of the photographer’s native Japan.     Virgil Abloh's second campaign for Louis Vuitton begins as did his first: through the lens of photographers Inez & Vinoodh.

    Continually exploring the theme of inclusivity and perpetually building on his past collections, Men's Artistic Director Virgil Abloh chose Japan, a strong inspiration for his recent Pre-Collection, as the backdrop for his new Fall-Winter 2019 Campaign. Inez & Vinoodh shot the multi-layered and detail-rich collection through the distinctive distortion of the fish-eye lens, amplifying its spirit of futuristic nostalgia.

    Louis Vuitton unveils the new campaign photographed by Collier Schorr and featuring Léa Seydoux, Samara Weaving, and Zhong Chu Xi.

    First presented last March at the Louvre in Paris, the Louis Vuitton Women's Fall-Winter 2019 collection expresses Nicolas Ghesquière’s interpretation of the sartorial melting pot symbolized by the Centre Pompidou Museum. With its patchwork of patterns, unexpected layerings, and bold lines, the collection takes a deliberate stylistic stand. 

    In this new campaign, actresses Léa Seydoux, Samara Weaving, and Zhong Chu Xi were photographed by Collier Schorr, with a cast of models preparing backstage at the Opéra Bastille in Paris. The Monogram and the Damier oscillate on accessories in equal time, introducing both new shapes as well as new iterations of existing forms. A graphic juxtaposition surfaces on the colorful Monogram LV Pop line while the new LV Arch bag stands as classic as it is contemporary.
